Storage of Empty Capsules
1. Because empty capsules are prone to breakage if too little moisture is present, and softening and deformation if too much moisture is present, the moisture content of empty capsules at the time of manufacture should be controlled between 12.5% and 17.5%.
2. Containers containing capsules should be placed on shelves, away from windows and pipes, in a cool, ventilated place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
3. Do not place them haphazardly or subject them to heavy pressure.
4. Before use, the packaging container should be kept sealed. If opened, appropriate sterilization measures should be taken; otherwise, bacterial contamination may occur.
5. The storage temperature should be maintained between 15% and 25%℃; the relative humidity should be maintained between 35% and 65%.
6. Do not store in high temperature and high humidity conditions, otherwise the capsules will soften, stick together, and deform due to heat. Also, do not place them in excessively low temperature or excessively dry environments, otherwise the capsules will become brittle and easily broken.
7. When stored under the above conditions, capsules can be stored intact for more than 9 months. During transportation, pay attention to preventing pressure, sunlight, moisture, and heat.
The capsule shell is mainly composed of starch. Certain medications that are highly irritating to the stomach are encapsulated inside. Since the stomach does not absorb starch, the medication carried by the capsule is directly absorbed in the small intestine, avoiding any irritation to the stomach.
